Kenya Highways Authority Gives Traders 30 Days to Vacate Four Road Reserves

Kenya's National Highways Authority has given roadside traders and other occupants 30 days to clear goods and unauthorized structures from reserves along four national routes, according to a notice dated September 29. The affected corridors are Likoni–Ukunda–Lunga Lunga (A7), Kilifi–Malindi–Garsen–Witu (A7), Maili Tisa–Kitale (B14), and Eldoret–Nyaru (B124). The authority set an October 29 deadline and said structures left afterward could be removed at their owners' cost. It said clearing the reserves would make room for planned service-road improvements, bus bays, drainage rehabilitation, and road-safety work.
