IDF Jails 16 Givati Soldiers After Refusal to Join Gaza Mission With Female Paramedic

The Rotem Battalion commander sentenced 16 Givati Brigade soldiers after they refused to join an operational mission in Gaza because a female paramedic was assigned to their Namer armored personnel carrier. Five soldiers identified as leading the refusal received 10 days in military prison, while 11 received five days; two of the five will face evaluation committees before returning to combat. The company commander explained the mission’s urgency and the brigade rabbi permitted participation, but the soldiers maintained their refusal and the mission was canceled. The IDF said the incident was investigated and command measures were imposed according to each soldier’s involvement.
