Border Police Officer David Hoyer Amrani Killed After Opening Fire in Netanya

Israel Police identified Sgt. Second Class David Hoyer Amrani, 20, of Netanya, as the Border Police officer killed after he opened fire toward homes and police in the city’s Kiryat HaSharon neighborhood. Police said officers and security personnel neutralized the shooter, with no other police casualties, and that the circumstances remain under investigation. Amrani enlisted for compulsory Border Police service in August 2024, served in Hebron after training, and transferred about eight months ago to Company 39 in the Judea and Samaria Border Police. His family was notified; he is survived by his parents and two siblings.
