Türkiye’s ports handled 369,798,698 tons of cargo from January through August 2026, 0.8% more than in the same period of 2025, according to the Directorate-General of Maritime Affairs. Cargo handled during August totaled 43,579,520 tons, 0.8% below the figure for August 2025. The official monthly bulletin presents the nationwide totals alongside breakdowns by cargo type, handling method, coastal region, port authority and international connection. The cumulative figures show that cargo traffic increased across the first eight months even though the latest monthly comparison declined.
