UK Police Say Suspected Plot Against Manchester Jewish Community Disrupted

Counter Terrorism Policing said two men arrested in Manchester remain in custody in an investigation into a suspected plot against the city's Jewish community. The agency said its long-running inquiry disrupted what it believes was a plot, while stressing that it does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public. The men were arrested on September 20 under the Terrorism Act 2000. Warrants obtained on September 22 permit their detention until September 27. Police said searches in Salford and Liverpool are complete and the investigation continues.
