Australia's next Safer Local Roads Infrastructure Program round will open to state, territory and local governments on September 1 and close at 5 p.m. AEST on January 31, 2027. The merit-assessed program provides A$200 million annually for road construction and upgrades, with applicants able to seek up to A$5 million per project as a co-contribution. The updated guidelines give greater weight to road safety while retaining productivity, resilience and sustainability goals.
