Unidentified armed attackers ambushed a UN Mission in South Sudan patrol traveling to Pajut in Jonglei state, killing two peacekeepers and injuring seven people. The wounded included three peacekeepers, two South Sudan National Police Service officers and two civilian staff members. UNMISS deployed a quick-reaction force to secure the area and called for a prompt investigation, noting that attacks on peacekeepers may constitute war crimes.
