Chtěli zničit jejího ducha. Nepodařilo se jim to. V listopadu 2014 Nadía uviděla odemčené dveře. Rozběhla se. Místní muslimská rodina riskovala život, aby ji ukryla a pomohla jí uprchnout z území ISIS. Nakonec se Nadía dostala do uprchlického tábora. Poté do Německa. Konečně byla svobodná. Mohla zmizet v klidném životě. Místo toho promluvila. V prosinci 2015 Nadía vystoupila před Radou bezpečnosti OSN. Bylo jí 22 let. Její slova byla nebojácná. Popsala dívky prodávané jako dobytek. Zavražděné matky. Kulturu, která je vymazávána. Svět naslouchal. V roce 2016 OSN uznala genocidu Jezídů. Nadía však ještě neskončila. Proměnila přežití v čin. V roce 2018 založila Nadia’s Initiative, která pomáhá obnovovat vesnice, školy a kliniky a podporuje přeživší hledající spravedlnost. Téhož roku, ve 25 letech, se Nadía stala první Iráčankou, která získala Nobelovu cenu za mír. Svět tleskal. Nadía se podívala k těm, kteří byli stále v zajetí. Pro ni byla skutečnou cenou jejich svoboda. Nadále mluví za tisíce zabitých i za ty, kteří jsou stále pohřešováni. Každé vyprávění nese bolest. Ale i mlčení má svou cenu. Nadía proměnila utrpení v poslání. Trauma ve svědectví. Přežití v požadavek spravedlnosti. ISIS se ji pokusil zredukovat na majetek. Historie si ji pamatuje podle jména. Nadia Murad. Ne proto, že unikla tomu, co se stalo, ale protože přežila, stanula před světem a odmítla dovolit, aby poslední slovo mělo mlčení.
