Unwinding the American Empire should be done voluntarily and rationally. Reality should be faced and accepted. But alas, the power centers that benefit from the Empire want to keep their gravy train going as long as possible. Let future generations deal with the eventual fallout. Instead of having our Middle East bases blown up and destroyed, we should have sold them off and brought our troops home without casualties and severe injuries. Instead of kidnapping foreign leaders and trying to steal their oil, we should not have started the Iran war and drained our oil reserves to cover up the results at the pump. Coming generations will not have to wait for the bad consequences of attempting to hang onto Empire. We're feeling them now, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. The Wall Street Journal has reported that President Trump was given strong warnings against starting the war with Iran, including from then-Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. He ignored that advice and instead listened to Israeli and US hawkish urgings to attack. The rest is history. This is why the Constitution requires Congress to declare war. President Trump had a choice, try to save America ... or try to save the Empire. He chose the latter. Now America (and the Empire) are paying dearly for it. A confluence of bad decisions are creating a perfect storm: - $40 Trillion in debt has been crossed. - America has suffered its greatest strategic military defeat in Iran. - America is getting kicked out of the Middle East, instead of leaving voluntarily. - The AI Bubble is the biggest bubble (by far) of them all.
