Kiryat Ata's secondary schools will move to a five-day schedule on September 1, with full school days Sunday through Thursday. The change covers the city's two middle schools, Ulpanit Shaham, the yeshiva high school and Rogozin High School. The municipality says Mayor Yaakov Peretz and the education department advanced the plan with approval coordinated through the Education Ministry's Haifa district and teachers' organizations. Officials and schools will develop optional Friday programs focused on social activities, community volunteering and youth movements.
