Several years ago, I was deeply moved when Oren Almog joined me at the UN Security Council and shared his inspiring story with the world. Oren lost five members of his family and his eyesight in the Maxim restaurant terrorist attack, and since then has chosen a life of action and hope. Today, everyone in Israel celebrates with him as he marries the love of his life. Oren, I wish you and Rotem Mazal Tov on your marriage. You prove how important it is to choose life, even in the most difficult times.

Since the Labour Party came to power in the UK, the British government has adopted a firm anti-Israel stance. It has now imposed sanctions on Israel, even as the Palestinian Authority continues to pay terrorists in Judea and Samaria! In my interview with Piers Morgan, I spoke about the UN’s hypocrisy. As part of humanitarian efforts, we are allowing rubble to be cleared in certain areas. Now, UN officials are claiming that clearing the rubble will “destroy evidence.” Somehow, even this has been twisted by the UN into an absurd accusation against Israel. No matter what happens, somehow Israel always ends up being blamed. At this point, even I had to laugh.

Indeed. The UN needs to be more disciplined - and most importantly, it needs to end its obsessive bias against Israel. It's time to return to the UN's founding principles, established 80 years ago in the aftermath of the Holocaust, to ensure such a tragedy could never happen again. We expect the next Secretary-General to repair what you have broken and bring the UN back to its founding mission.
I thank my good friend, President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, @Presidence_RDC, for his decision to move his country’s embassy to Jerusalem, Israel’s capital. More than a decade ago, when Félix was still a presidential candidate, he shared with me his deep personal connection to Jerusalem and his vision of establishing an embassy there. I commend Peru for its important decision to sever diplomatic relations with the Iranian regime. There is no place for “business as usual” with a regime that represses its own people, spreads terrorism and violence across the Middle East, and threatens international peace and security. Other countries should follow Peru’s lead.
