As Jews, memory is part of our culture and our tradition. We are commanded to remember and commanded not to forget. Our collective memory holds the Exodus from Egypt, the burning of the Temple, the exile from our land, the expulsion from Spain and the Holocaust. We remember what happened on October 7, 2023. We will never forget the families who were burned alive, the young people murdered at the Nova music festival, and the heroes who saved many and paid with their lives. We remember who stood by us, who helped us in our darkest hours. We will forever remember our true friends. At the same time, we will not forget those who celebrated and continue to celebrate the murder of Israelis and Jews, all who give or have given legitimacy to antisemitism, anyone who thinks the aftermath of October 7 is the right time to attack Israel, deny its right to self-defense, spread fake news, and more. We will not forget. We will not forgive.
