I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham, whose decades of unwavering support and legislative accomplishment put him in the pantheon of the greatest friends Israel has ever had in the Senate. Senator Graham's support was driven by a deep understanding that Israel's enemies are America's enemies and that by standing together, the US-Israel alliance was helping secure the Middle East and pave a path to peace. Behind his endearing charm and sense of humor, Senator Graham possessed an indefatigable resolve to both confront America's enemies and stand with America's friends across the globe. His approach, which combined principle with pragmatism, enabled him to reach across the partisan divide to get things done. Senator Graham's passing is a terrible loss for America, for Israel, and for all those who cherish freedom across the globe. The best way to honor his legacy is to continue the invaluable work to which he was dedicated: to secure America and its allies, to defend freedom, and to advance peace. May the memory of this great friend of the Jewish state and the Jewish people be a blessing.
