What is the world’s interest in allowing Saudi Arabia to dominate Yemen? And is it worth an energy crisis? How about a deal: Saudi Arabia can run Saudi Arabia, and leave Yemen to Yemenis, and then we don’t have to have an energy crisis.

Ansarallah, after wide ranging attacks on Saudi’s oil infrastructure, is gaining major ground, pushing toward controlling the full west coast of Yemen, which would make it that much easier to throttle shipping through the Bab Al Mandeb Strait. Trump just stays winning.

Ha'aretz reports that Hamas, through Qatar, conveyed immediately on Oct. 7 that they were willing to return all the civilian hostages for nothing -- their only ask was for a mediator to arrange the exchange and establish a connection to then negotiate the further release of the soldiers. Israel refused to talk or hear about it. So Qatar reached out to Antony Blinken to let him know that Hamas was willing to release all the civilian hostages. Blinken told Qatar he didn't want to hear it because "Israel is still under attack, and there's no one to talk to." Blinken had the opportunity to free every single civilian hostage and de-escalate the situation. Instead he wanted war.

A deportation flight with up to 150 Palestinians is to depart on Thursday, 9/10, according to Doctors Against Genocide, which learned of the flight. The deportees would be faced with the immediate threat of torture and detention without charge. Tareq Zakarneh is expected to be on the flight.
Inflation is a means of rationing. So the U.S. is forcing rationing on the Iranian people, which the Iranian war-time govt would be doing itself if the U.S. wasn’t forcing it. I can’t think of a govt that has ever surrendered a war because it had to ration. The South during the civil war was eating grass but they fought on until their armies were beaten. The U.S. in WWI and II faced rationing at home and plenty of labor unrest but nobody ever suggested surrendering. Just a totally thoughtless policy from Trump.
