IDF Advocate General Orders Criminal Probes in Two Gaza Incidents, Closes Three Cases

The IDF said its General Staff Fact-Finding Assessment Mechanism completed its examination of five Gaza war incidents, and that Military Advocate General Maj. Gen. Itai Ofir referred two of them to a Military Police criminal investigation. Those are the January 2024 fire on a vehicle and a Red Crescent ambulance in Gaza City, in which nine people were killed, and the March 2025 fire on rescue vehicles in Rafah, in which 15 were killed, six of them identified as Hamas affiliated. Three cases were closed, among them the strike that killed seven World Central Kitchen workers, where the IDF said commanders' decisions did not cross the criminal threshold.
