El-Sayed Calls Israel Rogue State in Michigan Senate Debate With Stevens

Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed called Israel a rogue state at a nationally televised primary debate in Grand Rapids Tuesday, said U.S. foreign policy has been handed to us by Israel and AIPAC, and accused the pro-Israel lobby of aiming to annex Lebanon or commit genocide in Gaza. Rep. Haley Stevens, the AIPAC-backed pro-Israel front-runner, said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not made us safer and called him a danger to Jews in America and around the world while restating support for Israel's existence, humanitarian aid, and a two-state solution. El-Sayed said he would end U.S. military funding for Israel and accused Jerusalem of human rights abuses, genocide, and apartheid. The clash sharpens Israel policy in the two-person race ahead of the August 4 vote.
