Tax Benefits Start for 64 Judea-Samaria Communities

The Tax Authority notified residents of 64 Judea-Samaria communities that a new 7% income-tax benefit will begin next month and apply retroactively from January 2026. The implementation follows a Knesset-approved law promoted by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, Religious Zionism MK Zvi Sukkot and the Yesha Council after years in which many threatened communities in Judea and Samaria were outside similar tax-benefit frameworks. Reports said residents must obtain a local residency certificate and give it to employers to receive the credit. Local leaders welcomed the step as recognition for families living on Israel's front line, while saying they will keep pressing for parity with northern and southern border communities.
