UK Commits £250 Million to Protect Jewish Communities

The UK government will spend more than £250 million over three years to protect Jewish communities across England and Wales after a series of antisemitic attacks. The plan will fund more than 500 additional police officers, with roughly 300 in London and 80 in Greater Manchester, while £43 million will support forces serving other areas with significant Jewish populations. Officers will strengthen security around Jewish neighborhoods, schools, synagogues and community centers. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said combating antisemitism is central to his leadership and British Jews must be able to live and practice their faith without fear.
