Argentina’s Inbound Visitors Rise 17.9% as Resident Departures Fall 21.2%

Argentina recorded 830,200 inbound non-resident visitors in July, up 17.9% from a year earlier, official statistics agency INDEC reported. The total included 466,200 tourists and 363,900 excursionists, increases of 9.1% and 31.5%, respectively. Resident departures fell 21.2% to 1,228,200, leaving a negative visitor balance of 398,000. Brazil supplied 36.1% of inbound tourists and Uruguay 16%, while Brazil and Paraguay were the leading destinations for Argentine tourists. From January through July, inbound tourists totaled 3.3641 million and outbound tourists 7.0808 million.
