Russia’s Foreign Ministry said Nigerien troops repelled August 29 attacks on government facilities in Niamey with help from the Russian Defense Ministry’s Africa Corps. Russian Ambassador Viktor Voropayev said the command at Air Base 101 requested assistance from Russian personnel during the mutiny.
