Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said, “People of rational sense in this country are opposed to this senseless Iran war.” Ro Khanna added, “Another war in the Middle East is not America first.” What does someone who has actually seen wars up close think? I sat down with John Spencer, an Army Ranger veteran and West Point strategy professor who has studied conflict firsthand across the world’s most active battlefields—he’s been in Gaza seven times. His new book is Twenty Times I Almost Died. We discuss the status and strategy of the wars in Iran, Ukraine, and Gaza, and I ask: Is our involvement in these conflicts good—or not—for Americans? Already has a new government to work with that is neither Palestinian Authority nor Hamas. Aid flowing. More schools opening with new curriculum. Demilitarizing. Deradicalizing. More than the UN ever even tried. But also a deeper understanding of the scale of the task, all conditions based.

Gaza is and continues to be a success story, the Trump Administration did get Hamas to sign a conditions based peace deal, returned all hostages in Gaza living or deceased, and through the oversight of the U.S. led @BoardOfPeace established a new government (NGAG), brought in more aid and services to the people of Gaza than ever before, and is working to undue decades of failed UN approaches to Hamas rule and subjugation of Gaza to include disarmament, demilitarization, and deradicalitzation.

“Gaza needs to be reimagined so it is no longer sustained by an NGO complex or a refugee framework. Gaza will need deep deradicalization across schools, mosques, media and public language to cultivate and produce builders and creators.” @afalkhatib 100% and the @BoardOfPeace @jaredkushner have a conditions based (first of its kind) plan and vision for those must haves of disarmament, demilitarization, deradicalization.
But the “experts” told us in the @nytimes that Iran had become the fourth center of global power with their ability to impose military blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which the U.S. could not stop. Weird.

This improves the security of both Lebanon and Israel. These Iranian built bunker complexes gave Iran the ability to attack Israel at will, keep Southern Lebanon disconnected from Lebanon’s interest in peace. Find and destroy them all.
There is no genocide in Gaza. The actual evidence of Israel’s intent and actions in Gaza overwhelmingly points in the opposite direction of an effort to destroy, in whole or in part, the population of Gaza.
20 million barrels was the daily amount before the war, with Gulf pipelines increased flow there are credible reports that more than pre-war oil is flowing out. The U.S. is in control of the strait of Hormuz. The world’s oil is getting out. Iran remains under full and effective blockade. Zero Iranian oil is getting. Their primary customers finding alternatives.
