Twenty-five years ago today, the post-Cold War era of innocence was shattered when two planes struck the World Trade Centre in New York, and two others crashed into the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania. Almost 3,000 people died in the attacks and thousands more passed away, or had lifelong health issues in the aftermath. We stood then with our friends, the American people, who came under unjustified attack. As allies, we responded by tracking down the perpetrators and eventually exacting justice on Osama bin Laden. Many Australians had their lives irrecoverably changed and we lost 56 of our own soldiers in the subsequent War on Terror. Many others returned from these wars with lifelong trauma. On the 25th anniversary of the attacks, we remember all of the innocent lives that were lost on that fateful day and in the years after. Earlier this year I had the privilege to visit the 9/11 Museum with my family in New York. The museum is a moving tribute to the stories of the innocent people who lost their lives on that day or had to live with their legacy. We spoke to Myrna Weinstein, a museum volunteer, who told my children — who were not alive at the time of 9/11 — what it was like to experience the attacks from her job on the 61st floor of the North Tower. I thank her for sharing these harrowing experiences with the world and helping the next generation not forget the evil that was done on that day and the deep loss that was felt by many. We remember all of that loss and continue to stand with the USA, and all of the free world, to fight against terror and evil.
The Liberal and Nationals Coalition will oppose Labor's sneaky attempt to dictate what you can see and read online. Labor say these laws are to impose a Duty of Care but they are not about care, they are about control. Buried in the proposed law is the ability for the Communications Minister to decide what is harmful content. And, this same Minister said this week that she thinks people are losing trust in her because of social media. We can not give the power to decide what you read, see or write to politicians that are not impartial judges. These laws do not protect people, they are designed to protect politicians. We must oppose Labor's Big Brother Bill.
I am sorry to hear this Sal. You're right the law must be changed to protect women and align with common sense. The Liberals and Nationals have a law in the Parliament now that would restore the definition of a biological female into the Sex Discrimination Act. The government should bring it on for debate.
Today we remember Charlie Kirk, a fearless political communicator who inspired millions of young people. Charlie was gunned down in cold blood a year ago today by a coward inspired by the evil idea that we should solve our political differences with violence. The best way we can defeat such evil is to live by Charlie's example and speak up for what we believe in. Charlie was a loving family man, and we should especially pause to pray for Erika and their children as they navigate life without a husband and father. The Labor party has given up on trying to lower prices, cut taxes or reduce migration like they said they would. Their new plan is to censor the internet so you can't complain about these things.
On the day that Labor's social media laws are being debated in the Senate, they have just tabled a bunch of amendments that: - give the eSafety Commissioner the power to summons people* - make them take an oath and answer all questions - removes the protection against self-incrimination - if you don't comply you can be fined $364,000 (1000 penalty units) sent to jail for 12 months *if you are a journalist you are exempt.
Labor can't be trusted to regulate the internet because their Minister said that no one trusts her any more because of the "algorithm". News to Labor. People don't trust you any more because you lied to us about taxes and energy prices. We should never give censorship powers to people who are proven liars. Labor's own statements prove that their goal here is to censor people not protect people. Rather than trying to rig the algorithm, the government should focus on fixing the problems of too high prices, too much tax and too much migration.

The Labor party is now blaming "algorithms" for people losing trust in them. Just maybe people don't trust Labor anymore because Anthony Albanese LIED to us at the last election about not increasing taxes. We should be deeply cynical about Labor's brazen attempt to control what people see online.
I hope everyone had a great father's day but I regret to inform you that according to the government funded Respectful Relationships program - taught in our schools - celebrating Father's Day can perpetuate "stereotypes". This is a program that is ostensibly funded to help improve the behaviour of boys. It has instead been hijacked by leftwing academics impsoing their latest crazy theories. Whatever it's intentions, this does more damage than good.

At the same time fuel prices are skyrocketing back above $2 a litre, Labor has unveiled a plan to make prices at the pump even higher. In Labor’s new fuel carbon tax plan, fuel companies would need to buy ‘low-carbon liquid fuels’ (mostly from overseas), and if they can’t they must pay the government a set “buy-out price” - also known as a carbon tax. Labor's plan makes that low-carbon fuel requirements can be met through IMPORTS! How exactly is our fuel security helped if we swap petrol from Singapore for imported ethanol from Brazil? We must put lower costs and greater security first again, not this fanatical net zero insanity that is making our country weaker. More in @cqtoday this week.
It's not all about you Pauline. It's about the best interests of Australia. I think Jacinta Price might deserve just a little bit of credit for defeating the Voice! But it's clear from this that you're not focused on defeating Labor but on attacking all Liberal and Nationals politicians including great ones like Jacinta and Jamie Chaffey who represents Dubbo well. If our smelters need billion dollar bailouts to power themselves on so-called "cheap" renewables, why would it be any different for data centres?
At the start of the century, Australia produced 1.7 billion apples a year, or around a 100 a year per person. But with a rapidly increasing population, we are now only producing around 60 a year per person. If this trend continues, we will not grow enough apples to feed ourselves sometime over the next decade. We should never face food shortages, but if we do not focus on unleashing the potential of our farmers the cost of food could soon surge for everyone. More in CQToday this week.
The government keeps telling people that wages are growing and everything is fine. In truth, REAL wages - what your money can actually buy - have fallen by more than at anytime on record under Labor. Wage levels, in real terms, are back to where they were 15 years ago in 2011. Australians feel poorer under Labor, and they are right to feel that way.
