Katz Demands IDF Chief Strip Dismissed Military Lawyer’s Benefits

Defense Minister Israel Katz demanded that IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir immediately use every available procedure to strip dismissed former Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi of all remaining benefits. The demand followed a Finance Ministry freeze on payments after Zamir approved standard retiree terms while withholding chief-of-staff supplements. The IDF said the dismissal decision had already denied about NIS 1.5 million and left any rank reduction pending clarification of the criminal case. Katz said no decision should ease her position before a possible conviction.
