The comparison drawn by @kajakallas has no factual or legal basis whatsoever and is completely unacceptable. The Jewish people’s connection and right to Judea and Samaria and the Land of Israel are more extensively documented than those of any other people in human history. Contrary to the comparisons drawn by Ms. Kallas, Judea and Samaria have never belonged to a Palestinian state, which never existed. Even the Palestinians themselves signed on a negotiated solution for the disputed territories. And finally - what does the high representative for foreign affairs and security policy is trying to do? Comparing the only democracy in the Middle East, that contributes in so many ways to Europe’s defence and security, to Russia? Did she stop to think about what she was actually saying?
A short while ago, I spoke with the staff of the Israeli Embassy in London, led by Chargé d’Affaires, Chris Cantor, as they gathered ahead of Rosh Hashana. I thanked them for their dedicated work during challenging times and wished them and their families a Shana Tova and a happy holiday. I told our embassy staff that when they speak with representatives of the British government, they should always remember that standing behind them are more than ten million Israelis, the Jewish community around the world, and a proud history stretching back thousands of years. From this they should draw much strength. Israel seeks good relations and cooperation with Britain. But we will always stand firm in defence of our ancient rights in the Land of Israel and our national interests. Shana Tova!

A good and important meeting at the Slovenian Parliament with Foreign Policy Committee Chairman @FrancBreznikSDS and Defence Committee Chairman @sreckoocvirk. We discussed the strategic challenges facing our countries and ways to deepen our bilateral relations. I explained how the Iranian regime continues to undermine security and stability across the Middle East. Israel has good friends in Slovenia. Together, we will continue to strengthen this friendship.

In a moving ceremony, together with my friend and colleague @TKajzer, the Foreign Minister of Slovenia, I inaugurated the Embassy of Israel in Slovenia just an hour ago. This is the fifth new Israeli embassy within a year and a half. We have friends in Europe and around the world, and we must strengthen relations and cooperation with them. I will continue to expand Israel's diplomatic network around the world.

Great conversation with Reform UK leader @Nigel_Farage following the anti-Israel moves by the Labour Government. I thanked him for his and his party’s support for Israel. He told me he was pleased to have addressed the Reform Friends of Israel event at the party conference in Birmingham last week, and assured me unequivocally that, in government, Reform UK would reverse the damage done to the UK-Israel relationship by the Labour Government and its policies.

Great conversation this evening with UK Opposition Leader @KemiBadenoch and Shadow Foreign Secretary @TomTugendhat. I thanked them for their firm opposition to the hostile Labour Government’s announcement today and its series of anti-Israel policies since taking office. I welcomed their support for the friendship with Israel and their commitment for the future relations between our countries. We know that we have many friends in the UK, but unfortunately we are faced with the ongoing hostility of the current Labour government. When I met my friend Lionel Aingimea, Vice President and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Naoero, in Fiji in May, I suggested that his country open their embassy in Jerusalem, our eternal capital. Thanks to his determination and efficiency, and to the steadfast friendship between Naoero and Israel, that vision was swiftly realized. At today’s moving ceremony, I told him: “This is a true legacy. Today, you laid a brick in the walls of Jerusalem.” Naoero’s embassy is already the ninth in Jerusalem.
