Police Arrest Suspect in Tayibe Murder, Seize Weapons

Israel Police posted at 13:47 IDT that Sharon anti-crime detectives and Tayibe police arrested the suspect in this week's Tayibe murder after finding him in a hiding apartment in Tira. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Bakr Nuseirat, shot dead on June 28 after returning from a wedding. Police said the suspect is a man in his 20s from the area and the ex-husband of a relative of the victim, with an initial inquiry pointing to an intra-family dispute. Detectives seized improvised explosive devices on him and found nearby weapons suspected in the murder. Israel's police work must keep pressing illegal weapons and family-crime networks that terrorize Arab Israeli communities.
