Michigan Senate Rivals Split Over Iran Strikes and Israel Aid

Rep. Haley Stevens, a pro-Israel Michigan Democrat, said Trump had reignited conflict with Iran and that Michiganders did not sign up for another endless war; she cited her War Powers vote. In the same Senate-primary track, Brad Lander endorsed Abdul El-Sayed and said they would push to end U.S. military aid to Israel while accusing Jerusalem of violating international law, a claim Israel rejects while fighting Iran-backed threats and Hamas after Oct. 7. El-Sayed welcomed the endorsement and highlighted Lander's anti-AIPAC posture. The split keeps Israel policy central before Michigan's Aug. 4 Democratic primary.
