Adam Smith Says Anti-Israel Activists Vandalized Home and Assaulted Staffer

U.S. Representative Adam Smith said Friday that anti-Israel activists had vandalized his family home, set a fire in his driveway, disrupted neighbors with late-night demonstrations, shut down town halls and physically assaulted a staff member. The ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee described the tactics as intimidation that damages civil discourse. Smith made the disclosure after voting for an amendment to stop $3.3 billion in military assistance to Israel, even as he said Israel faces existential threats from Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran. The House rejected the amendment 314-104 earlier this week.
