Former Hostage Evyatar David Describes PTSD and Flashbacks During Recovery

Former hostage Evyatar David shared his first personal message since returning from more than two years in Hamas captivity, describing ongoing post-traumatic stress and flashbacks. David wrote that even when he is somewhere safe, his mind still returns to captivity, and said surviving and rebuilding are different struggles. He thanked Israelis who prayed for his return and said their support reminded him that good remains in the world. His family and friends opened a NIS 3 million crowdfunding campaign to help fund his rehabilitation, while David said he hopes to recover, marry, build a family in Israel and return fully to life.
