Israel Bars Two Swedish MEPs After Calls for Legal Action Against Israelis

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar asked Israel's Population and Immigration Authority to bar Swedish Left Party MEPs Jonas Sjöstedt and Hanna Gedin, and the authority approved the request under the Entry into Israel Law. The lawmakers had requested a visit to the Palestinian Authority and were scheduled to arrive Sunday night. The Foreign Ministry said both had consistently acted against Israel and called for international legal proceedings against Israelis. It also accused them of spreading false claims of genocide, deliberate starvation, and intentional attacks on children and medical personnel. The report included no response from either lawmaker.
