IDF Says Overnight Northern Alerts Stemmed From a False Target

An IDF preliminary investigation found that several interceptors launched overnight in northern Israel were apparently fired at a false target. The military had initially said a suspicious aerial object was believed to have crossed from Lebanon, prompting hostile-aircraft alerts in several northern communities. Rocket-and-missile alerts were then activated because of the interception attempts, while the results were under review. No injuries were reported. The updated finding replaces the earlier assessment that an aerial object had apparently crossed the border from Lebanon.
