Workdays Lost to Strikes Fell 88% in 2025, Labor Ministry Says

Israel lost about 90,000 workdays to strikes in 2025, down 88% from roughly 762,000 in 2024, according to the Labor Ministry’s annual report. The ministry estimated that early intervention by its Labor Relations Unit prevented about NIS 259 million in economic damage, with around 90% of handled disputes ending without industrial action. Violence against workers caused 40% of the year’s strikes, especially among education, medical, transportation and public-service employees. Chief labor-relations commissioner Rivka Werbner and ministry director-general Rubi Shemesh said prevention, dialogue and enforcement were central to the results.
