IDF Announces Eilat and Arava Drill Against Surprise Attacks

The IDF and Israel Police announced a preplanned 80th Division exercise in Eilat and the Arava, beginning Monday. It will simulate surprise attacks and infiltration into Israeli territory by air, sea and land, while testing community defenses and force readiness. Ground forces, the air force and navy will coordinate with police and Magen David Adom. Increased movement of security forces, aircraft and vessels is expected from Sunday. The drill is part of the Operations Directorate's 2026 training program and will test lessons from recent fighting and security incidents.
