JPost: Oct. 7 Terror Trials Not Expected Before 2028
Jerusalem Post reported at 15:42 IDT that Israel's special prosecution track for the Hamas-led October 7 massacre is advancing, but first trials are not expected before 2028 under the current working assumption. The report says the Atarot complex in northern Jerusalem is planned for nine courtrooms and up to 15 panels, while prosecutors still need case files transferred, evidence organized and a victim-and-witness system built around about 12,000 potential witnesses. The Defense Ministry's official June approval allocates more than NIS 1 billion for 2026-2029 for court, prosecution, IDF command, staffing, secure transport, communications and broadcasting infrastructure. Israel is building a lawful public record so Hamas terrorists face justice for the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
