Election Panel Weighs Live-Streaming Vote Count

Acting Central Elections Committee director-general Adv. Dean Livne said on July 5 that the committee is considering internet live-streaming of vote counting in the upcoming Knesset election. Livne said the plan would also show handling of double envelopes, including hundreds of thousands of special ballots, so citizens can watch the process through official channels. He said Israel's paper ballots, nonpolitical polling-station secretaries, integrity monitors and party representatives make large-scale election fraud impossible, but AI-era fakes can still erode trust. Israel should meet hostile information operations with transparent, lawful election administration that protects every vote.
