Israel and Colombia Agree to Restore Full Ties, Open Jerusalem Embassy

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and Colombia's incoming foreign minister, Omar Bula Escobar, agreed in Washington to restore full diplomatic and economic ties after President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella takes office on August 7. The countries will promptly appoint ambassadors and resume full diplomatic engagement. Bula said the incoming government plans to open an embassy in Jerusalem, while Sa'ar pledged Foreign Ministry support for the move. They also agreed to remove visa requirements for travelers from both countries and discussed expanding bilateral cooperation.
