Analysis Projects 40–50 New MKs, Few With Economic Experience

An analysis of emerging candidate lists projects that 40 to 50 first-time lawmakers could enter the next Knesset, while only a small number of newcomers have substantial economic or management experience. It identifies former senior civil servants Keren Turner, Liran Avisar Ben Horin and Michal Negari on Naftali Bennett’s list, and former budget chief Shaul Meridor and former Labor Ministry director-general Tair Ifergan on Gadi Eisenkot’s list, as exceptions. The report says turnover will be concentrated in Yashar, Beyachad and the Democrats. With many veteran lawmakers expected to seek cabinet posts, new members may lead much of the Knesset’s committee and oversight work.
