Iran Says Hormuz Corridor Deal Does Not Reopen the Strait

ภาพสำหรับ: Iran Says Hormuz Corridor Deal Does Not Reopen the Strait

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said the Iran-Oman corridor framework does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He said the temporary seven-mile route would send commercial ships into the Persian Gulf through Iranian waters and out through Omani waters, while excluding military vessels. Gharibabadi said negotiations on a permanent arrangement would take 30–60 days, and reopening requires lifting the economic blockade, ending fighting on all fronts including Lebanon, resolving the Yemen blockade, preventing renewed U.S. military action and fulfilling commitments in the Islamabad memorandum. He also said Iran could adopt preventive strategies against the United States while maintaining that Tehran does not seek war.
