Araghchi Says Iran Will Strike Any U.S. Target in Region During War

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Iranian forces would strike any American base, facility or concentration of forces in the region during wartime. Addressing guests of the 40th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, he said Iran had warned regional governments that U.S. targets on their territory would face an Iranian response if Washington attacked Iran. Araghchi said prior Iranian strikes targeted American facilities rather than neighboring Muslim states. He characterized U.S.-Israeli military action as illegitimate aggression and Iran’s response as legitimate defense.
