Pezeshkian Asks Modi to Help Move Iran War Back to Negotiations

Masoud Pezeshkian asked Narendra Modi during a meeting in Bishkek to use India’s contacts with different parties to help move the Iran war from bloodshed toward dialogue and agreement. Iran’s presidency said Pezeshkian argued that continued fighting benefits neither Iran, the region nor humanity. India’s prime minister’s office said Modi voiced concern over the West Asia conflict, repeated that disputes must be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy, and stressed freedom of navigation and commerce. The leaders also discussed the Strait of Hormuz, Chabahar port, maritime transport, trade, science and culture.
