Israel Railways Demands Better Rail Remove App as Developers Reject Claims

Israel Railways demanded that Better Rail stop accessing railway systems, delete obtained data and remove its passenger app from distribution platforms, threatening legal action after alleging unauthorized use and system strain. Better Rail rejected the allegations, saying its free, ad-free, open-source app used ordinary unauthenticated requests and had already shifted to Ministry of Transport data. The developer says about 1,000 people use the app daily and that user support totaled roughly NIS 2,000 over five years. The dispute remains at the warning-and-response stage, with no lawsuit verified.
