King Abdullah Calls Israeli Presence in Syria a Regional Threat at UN

King Abdullah II told the UN General Assembly that Israel's presence in southern Syria had become a regional threat, linking it to Jordan's northern border and water security. He accused Israel of repeated incursions, territorial expansion and creating new facts around vital water resources. The Jordanian monarch said any threat to the border or water was a threat to Jordanian national security and vowed to protect the kingdom's interests.
