Ecuador Drawn Against Ghana, South Africa and Chinese Taipei in Women's World Cup Play-Off

FIFA's August 20 draw placed Ecuador against Ghana, South Africa and Chinese Taipei in the preliminary phase of the play-off tournament for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil. Ecuador will open against Ghana, then face South Africa and Chinese Taipei during a centralized round-robin competition scheduled for the November 24 to December 5 international window. Six teams will each play three matches, with the top two overall advancing to the final phase from February 23 to March 6, 2027. They will join Venezuela, two Concacaf qualifiers and one UEFA qualifier in single-match ties that award the tournament's final three World Cup places.
