Nigeria's Tinubu Suspends Three Permanent Secretaries Over Second Fake Government Agency

Nigeria's anti-corruption commission, the ICPC, uncovered a second fake federal agency, the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, operating from office space illegally allocated inside the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. President Bola Tinubu ordered the immediate suspension of permanent secretaries M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah, and the immediate arrest of the office's alleged promoter, George Buchi Nwabueze. ICPC chairman Musa Adamu Aliyu announced the directives on August 21 after briefing the president. The commission's probe earlier exposed the fictitious PFIPC, a presidential council allocated about 1.3 billion naira in the 2026 budget, and its investigation continues.
