South Africa–Zimbabwe Trade Reaches R81 Billion as Border Crossings Speed Up

Trade between South Africa and Zimbabwe reached R81 billion in 2025, nearly double its 2021 level, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said at the countries' business forum. Zimbabwe is South Africa's second-largest African export destination, while South Africa is Zimbabwe's largest source of imports. The average truck crossing at Beitbridge has fallen to about 14 hours, and the governments are developing a one-stop border post, a joint technical committee and an economic-cooperation memorandum.
