Canada said it will impose counter-tariffs of 15%, 25% and 50% on C$27.6 billion in U.S. imports from September 8, matching the U.S. rates dollar for dollar. The list targets steel, dairy, appliances, agricultural equipment, pulp and paper, and electronics after Washington put a 50% tariff on C$27.6 billion in Canadian goods on August 22. Ottawa also announced C$7.5 billion in new and expanded support for affected workers and businesses, on top of nearly C$25 billion already provided.
