U.S. Military Says Caribbean Boat Strike Killed Four

U.S. Southern Command said Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere struck a go-fast vessel in the Caribbean on August 25, killing four people the command called "narco-terrorists." SOUTHCOM said intelligence showed the boat was moving along established narcotics-trafficking routes and was actively trafficking drugs, but it did not publicly release evidence of narcotics aboard. The command did not identify those killed, their nationalities, the vessel’s origin, alleged cartel affiliation or the strike’s precise location. The official seven-second video showed the vessel before an explosion; no U.S. casualties were specified.
