Bolivia's new economy minister, Christian Morales, said the government expects to send the Plurinational Legislative Assembly a bill for its International Monetary Fund agreement on Friday, August 28, or no later than early next week. He said the agreement was undergoing internal IMF review and that the government would disclose its financial terms to deputies and senators. Morales said the government is targeting actual disbursement no later than September after legislative approval and another IMF stage. Bolivia's Economy Ministry said President Rodrigo Paz appointed Morales on August 25 to continue economic stabilization and reform.
