Canada Invests $6.6 Million in Cold Lake Energy and Aviation Projects

Canada committed C$6.6 million through its Community Economic Development and Diversification program to two projects in Cold Lake, Alberta. A C$6 million repayable investment will help Etthen Energy Corporation, wholly owned by Cold Lake First Nations, expand heavy-oil development beneath reserve lands through well-site, facility, engineering and completion work. The City of Cold Lake will receive C$600,000 to convert an airport hangar into an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering–Structures training facility. Ottawa said the investments are expected to create 90 jobs, train 30 highly qualified people and support three small and medium-sized enterprises.
