Xi to Attend SCO Summit and Make State Visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt

China says President Xi Jinping will travel from August 30 to September 3 for the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek and state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt. The Foreign Ministry said Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi invited the bilateral visits. The summit will be the multilateral part of Xi’s trip to Kyrgyzstan. Beijing’s brief announcement did not disclose a detailed agenda, expected agreements or the other leaders scheduled to attend the summit this year.
