Ghana’s Parliament approved Mahama Ayariga and Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings for two ministerial portfolios after vetting both nominees on Thursday. Speaker Alban Bagbin declared the voice-vote result after the House considered the Appointments Committee’s report, with the approvals made under Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution. Ayariga, the Bawku Central MP and Majority Leader, was approved for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs. Agyeman-Rawlings, the Klottey-Korle MP, was approved for Environment, Science and Technology, clearing the way for the remaining constitutional appointment steps.
